About our Council:

Holy Spirit Council #11359 was founded in June 1994, with many members transferring from St Peters Council #1283.  Our council was named after patron saint Blessed Joseph Allamano who was the founder of the Consolata Missionary Priests and Brothers in 1901.

While our council is small we are very active in the parish community as well as in Queensborough, where the Holy Spirit Church is located.  The Knights and our council are very well known in Queensborough as we have participated in many community events over the years since our inception.  We are fixtures at two of the largest community events, Queensborough Days and the Urban Farmers Fall Fair, where we set up a concession to sell our famous Italian barbequed sausages.  We have also assisted the Queensborough Community Centre by donating our time for events such as Breakfast with Santa, Queensweep community clean up day and Family Fusion Dinners where we have cooked dinners for many of the community residents.  Through our fund raising at these events we have been able to donate to various community causes and, in particular, choosing to focus on the youth in the community.  We have helped fund the children’s Breakfast Program, the Queensborough Middle School’s theatre stage and purchase a new printer for Queensborough Elementary School.  We have also donated to Megan’s Playground, a child’s playground at the Community Centre named after a child in Queensborough whose life was tragically cut short in an automobile incident.

Our council is also involved in the parish community.  We host a monthly pancake breakfast at the Holy Spirit Church Hall where the parish community can have a great breakfast, socialize and enjoy each others company.  This event occurs on the 3rd Sunday of each month.  Another annual event is our council’s New Years Eve family party.  This event has been going on many years and we welcome all parishioners who would like to attend a family oriented event, have a great meal and spend the night dancing.  We have assisted the parish over the years with donations for the hall and church sound system, seat and kneeling cushions for the parish priest and alter servers, the Church bulletin board and helping with the cost of the church grotto among other.
